Boss & Co is a Toronto based production company specializing in content creation for underrepresented audiences adhering to a solitary cardinal rule: Thou shalt not bore. We like subversion, bold aesthetics, and good jokes.
Established in 2018, Boss & Co is run by Karen Knox, Gwenlyn Cumyn, and Michael Schram. Boss & Co’s newest series HOMESCHOOLED with CBC is set to air in spring 2022. The second season of Boss & Co’s Slo Pitch, a high energy mockumentary about a beer league slo pitch team, is set to air in IFC in 2021. The first season can be seen on IFC and OUTtv in Canada. Boss & Co’s first series: BARBELLE can be seen worldwide on Amazon Prime, Bell Fibe TV1, Revry, and Shaftesbury’s KindaTV. The first season of BARBELLE has played multiple international festivals including the Cannes MipTv Festival, where it was nominated for best LGBTQ+ series, Stareable Fest NYC, The Pilot Light TV Festival UK, T.O Webfest, Bilbao Seriesland, Buenos Aires Web Fest, and more. Boss & Co’s film projects include, The Fates (TIFF), Damage Control (Pendance, Calgary Film Fest), and Case of the Massey Bodice Ripping (winner of best short at Venice Short Film Festival, and the Budapest Independent Film Festival).
Boss and Co’s films Case of the Massey Bodice Ripping, Cons and Pros, (CANNES Telefilm Not Shot on Talent) Damage Control, and The Fates have shown at festivals around the world including TIFF, Edmonton Film Festival, Budapest Independent Film Festival, Venice Short Fest, CFF, and Pendance Film Festival.
Boss & Co is currently developing a one hour dark comedy called The Last Party People.
